Caretaker: Love Thy Neighbor

By Lin Taylor

My crushing created Strength within. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 2 Corinthians 4:8 (NLT)

I have always tended to be a caretaker. As the years roll by my ability and desire to make sure everyone is ok only grows.  My first year of college I was dubbed Mama Lin.  All the girls would come to me or even send others to me, if they were sick or hurting.  People’s hearts have always been so important to me.  My life has been filled with difficult moments and often I struggled with, “why me God?”  I have been told I have a tender heart.

I admit I do feel things very deeply.  My heart breaks as easily for other people as it does for myself.  I have discovered that God has allowed these things in my life so I am fully able to relate to other. I know 2 things with incredible certainty. First is that no matter what you are going through you are not facing it alone. Second is that the highest highs and the lowest lows are temporary.

I can tell you that if you get these two things solidly rooted in your heart, life is going to take a different turn for you.

I want you to know that you WILL come through the rough patches of your life, they are there for a reason.  You can learn from literally everything around you.  You can learn what makes you happy, what absolutely does not, what things you will let slide and what things you will kick out of your life with every ounce of strength you have.

You can let life crush you or you can let it create you.  God designed you for something unique that only you have the DNA to do.  Some of us take longer to discover that, but until you are on the other side of this life, I am here to tell you that it is never too late!!!  You have a purpose!!!!

“How you love youself is how you teach others to love”.

~Rupi Kaur!

I want to encourage you to really study the things that you experience in life.  Look closely at the things that fill you up, that excite you, that unleash your passions.  They do that because that is the way you give back to others.  Our lives are meaningful because we affect others in the world.  We can choose to pour good into our journey through love, understanding, and compassion or we can choose to pour toxins out through anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness.

The point is, we get to decide! When we fully engage, instead of letting life throw us here and there by circumstances, every moment, every choice takes us toward or away from our destiny, our purpose, what we were made for.

Grace Alert!!   Please know we are ALL a work in progress!!!  We must love each other through the slippery parts and life is filled with plenty of them my friends. That is where our strengths are developed!

I love you!  Blessings beloved ladies!

Mama Lin.

Sending you positive vibes!! Peace, love and the grace of God!!
