After the Pain

By: Lorrie A. Arevalo “Her Story”

Many people suffer pain from trauma. Trauma is defined as a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. It can be physical injury or death or a severe illness or disease. Trauma can happen not only to soldiers during war but can be as a result of abuse, divorce, or separation from a parent or sibling. Some people suffer trauma and never recover. Or they carry the guilt or burden of the trauma that affects every aspect of their life causing anxiety and symptoms of depression; also known as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).we are in a disarray. Things are unclear, unfocused, and chaotic.

The weight of dealing with loss or pain from trauma can become overwhelming. It can make a person began to feel worthless, helpless, and rejected. Turning to God’s word during my pain, I read examples of where God took NOTHING and made SOMETHING! God took the WORTHLESS and made it WORTHY!

We are precious to him, we are not what happened to us, but we are more than conquerors through him. My mission is to share with women, men, children that have been abused, neglected, or violated or suffered trauma, you can be healed after the pain! Survivors of trauma simply need love and time to heal. We must share messages of healing and forgiveness to hurting people.

We are all precious in God’s eyes

There are 3 principles based on God’s word that help me walk into victory;

I am no longer afraid; I am courageous Psalm 31:14-24

I am no longer bound, I am free Job 11:15-18

I am no longer a victim; I am victorious Psalm 118:14-21
